In conjunction with the successful design team that worked for the rebuilding of Bishop John Robinson School in Thamesmead a challenging programme of 12 months was set to design the new building, gain planning approval, go to tender and appoint a contractor and complete the project by the start of term in September 2011.
In conjunction with Roger Winkley, architect, NBA produced a timber clad envelope on a steel framed building of approximately 430sqm over three floors. The resulting block is located close to the main entrance of the school and care was taken to ensure that the building paid respect on scale and proportions to its neighbouring blocks but also gave an accent to the new front of the school.
