The project, for a private client entailed the retention of the front facade whilst rebuilding the whole of the rear, roof and internal levels. Located in the Howard de Walden Estate, a conservation area, and in the vicinity of a number of Listed Buildings the project required careful navigation through the relevant statutory organisations including the planning authorities at the City of Westminster.
The project is now complete with the owners moving in at the end of 2011.
NBA have been closely involved with the project interiors from a very early stage and have worked in detail with the client to enable what will be an inspiring, beautifully lit environmentally responsive building that includes a BMS system to regulate temperature and air flow throughout the year. Specific thermal modelling was carried out to define temperature levels throughout the diurnal range.
