This mixed-use 5 storey scheme in Camden, London, consists of 16 residential units, office space and an underground car park. The project was designed to fit between the Grade II listed Georgian terrace of Delancey Street and Parkway, whilst also providing a new identity to this corner site.
Old meets new: Solstice Point rises to the corner plot stepping up and back progressively
The solar thermal tubes run along the full height on the facade. They act as a generator of heat and hot water like no other building in London.
Creating balcony space for each apartment was important. Their characteristic shape is a special aspect of the facade and urban identity of Solstice Point.
The movement of the sun was a key factor in the concept for the building's design.
The solar panels interlock with the projecting balconies creating a dynamic thermal facade
Solstice Point acts as a gateway building and a continuation of the curved form of the Georgian terrace that is Delancey Street. The stepping up of the new building is instrumental in its design.
